The Yuwun Elizabeth Foundation Orphanage is a non-profit making, apolitical, charity and developmental organization with head office in Douala-Bonaberi , Cameroon.  The orphanage and women shelter is managed  in Mboh Nso Northwest Region and also in Bonaberi-Douala Littoral region where we also operate a natural medicine clinic..

We started in 1999 then; it was called Organization for Rural Development and Sustainability Cameroon (OREDESUC) and later in 2022, it was changed to Yuwun Elizabeth Foundation because of the orphanage, women shelter and elderly people care. This vision started in Kumbo, Bui Division North West Region of Cameroon where we had five stranded kids and we decided to help house them. By 2011, we had 50 kids and we rented two rooms in Kumbo.

We later moved to Ndop in the North West Region where we had over 100 kids depending on us. This initiative was facilitated by Professor Lantum Daniel Noni of Blessed memory who offered us a structure in Kumbo, Dzem Verkakui which enabled us to house 183 children. With the crisis in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon, we found our lives threatened and we moved to Douala where we got a 4 room apartment rented for us by a Good Samaritan who saw the state of the children in the market and decided to pay one year rent at Bonamikano Bonaberi.

Due to some difficulties best known to her she was no longer able to pay the rent.  We had nowhere to go to, luckily the marche Tanko still accepted us to live inside the market where we recently reside with a total population of 45; ranging from the age of one to thirty five years including workers.

Our goal is to provide care and support not only to children who have lost their parents but also to children whose parents are unable to take care of them, children stranded from the North West and South West Region crisis, women who can not help themselves and the elderly. We aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment, access to education and opportunities for emotional and social development.
