Stories

Baby Sheena

Her story begins with challenges. Her mother, a young orphan, was abandoned by the father of her child. Seeking refuge with her uncle, Sheena’s mother faced maltreatment and malnourishment, leading to a difficult pregnancy and cesarean section. Baby Sheena was born fragile and sickly.

Fortunately, Sheena’s mother befriended my daughter at school, and her story was shared with me. We welcomed both Sheena and her mother into our home, providing care and support.

With love and treatment, Sheena has flourished. Now three years old, she excels academically, coming first in her class, and showcases her creativity through singing.

Bianca Ngahkanyuy’s

Bianca Ngahkanyuy’s story is one of resilience. Her name, meaning “what is difficult for God,” is ironic, as nothing is impossible for GOD. I rescued Bianca and her brother Emmanuel from their mother, who struggled with mental health issues. Despite her own challenges, Bianca’s mother had been pregnant twice, allegedly due to traumatic experiences.

When I first encountered the children, Bianca was around 5 years old and showed signs of mental health struggles, while Emmanuel was just a baby. Their mother had a habit of picking cola nuts, often at night, and faced exploitation. The children’s health was also compromised, with damage to their toes, legs, and fingers due to jiggers.

I provided medical care, gradually removing the jiggers and treating their wounds. Although Bianca’s mental health challenges persist, she has a caring side, often comforting crying babies and enjoying playtime with children. While she faced difficulties in vocational school, her gentle nature shines through in her interactions with others.
